Monthly Fabric Roll Challenge: Theme--Works of the Holy Spirit

Calling all Word Warriors! Would you like to combine scripture study with textile art? Here's your opportunity to join me studying our theme, the works of the Holy Spirit, through textile art by sewing a fabric roll in a monthly challenge.

What does the challenge entail? Over the course of 2022, we'll study the works of the Holy Spirit and translate what we learn into a stitched fabric roll. I will provide the study verse/s and a short devotion with the fabric color palette and featured stitch.

What materials do you need? At the basic end, you'll need needle, thread (regular and #8 Perle), fabric, muslin or double gauze, and scissors. Use what you have including upcyled material, stash fabric, ribbon, lace, etc. You also can incorporate your stamps and inks. I purchased an old, wooden spool 3 3/4" in length. However, you can roll the fabric manually. You can determine the width and length of your fabric dimensions. Mine will fit the spool.

Where can you post your work? I will post a link to a private, True Joy Face Book page for the challenge. Also, please upload your works on Instagram with me. Hashtag is #truejoyfabricrollchallenge22

When do you begin? We begin this month, January of 2022. I'll post the first fabric roll sample and directions on a separate post. Please watch for it.
